Recruiting Women for Law Enforcement
The NCWP is now offering a comprehensive two-day training program
for law enforcement agencies who want to increase their numbers
of women candidates. The trainings, which take place throughout
the country, provide a detailed understanding of how a law enforcement
agency can develop an effective plan to successfully recruit more
women. Participants will learn how to improve their recruitment
materials and optimize their websites to attract more applicants,
and how to expand and diversify their recruitment outreach within
a fixed budget. Don't miss this valuable training when it comes
to your area!
If you are interested in sponsoring a training in your area,
or would like more information about any of the upcoming trainings,
please e-mail us.
Law Enforcement Briefings on Anti-Abortion Domestic Terrorism
The NCWP works with the Feminist Majority Foundation's National
Clinic Access Project, Planned Parenthood Federation of America,
the National Abortion Federation, and the U.S. Department of Justice
Abortion Violence Task Force, in conducting regional briefings
for local and state law enforcement on anti-abortion violence
and terrorism. Participants receive a comprehensive "Law Enforcement
Guide to Anti-Abortion Violence" and ongoing monthly reports,
the Anti-Abortion Violence Watch bulletin. These highly respected
briefings have resulted in improvements in law enforcement response
to violence directed against women's health clinics and medical
personnel. If you are interested in receiving the Anti-Abortion
Violence Watch bulletin or learning more about scheduling a briefing
for your area, contact
us.
Improving Law Enforcement Response to Violence Against Women
The National Center for Women & Policing provides training and
training materials to law enforcement agencies seeking to improve
their response to crimes of violence against women. The NCWP offers
an innovative and interactive curriculum for law enforcement on
sexual assault investigation, with particular emphasis on assaults
committed by acquaintances. Given the historic failure of law
enforcement agencies to respond effectively to sexual assault,
this recently developed program is proving extraordinarily valuable.
The comprehensive sexual assault investigation training materials
are available from the NCWP on cd. Trainings are also provided
for law enforcement agencies seeking to improve response to domestic
violence crimes. For more information, contact
us.
