Historic Firsts in the Central United States

Iowa

Roxanne L. Johnson was the first woman promoted to Special Agent in Charge in the Division of Narcotics Enforcement in 1996. Julie Hamilton was the first woman promoted to Special Agent in Charge in the Division of Criminal Investigation in 1998. SAC Julie Hamilton Susan Martin was the first woman hired by the Rockford Police Department.

Minnesota

Minneapolis

Chris Morris was the first woman Inspector and Precinct Commander in 1994. Stacey Altonen became the first woman Captain in the Minneapolis Police Department in 2001. Shirleen Hoffman was the first woman Sergeant in the Minneapolis Police Department in 1986. She also became the first woman Lieutenant for that department in 1990.

St. Paul

Carolen Bailey was the first woman Sergeant and first Lieutenant on the St. Paul Police Department.
