SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS
COLONEL MARIAN MCGOVERN is a 30 year veteran and Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police. She began her career in the western part of the state at the Northampton barracks where she performed all the functions of a road Trooper. She transferred to the Holden barracks which brought her closer to home and closer to her passion of teaching. Colonel McGovern has been involved in training for not only Department members but members of State, Local, and Federal Law Enforcement agencies as well as numerous agencies and departments in this state and others as well.

 

The National Center for Women and Policing is a nationally recognized organization with women from all ranks of law enforcement - from front line officers to executives, Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police. Departments represented include small, medium and large municipal police departments, county sheriff's departments, State Police agencies, and a variety of Federal agencies that include sworn officer personnel. The National Center is a division of the Feminist Majority Foundation, a 501 c(3) organization.
